Life is change; mine has been all about it. As the child of a USAF officer, and through an adult life spent in itinerant ministry in the United Methodist Church, I have learned (not always gently) that peace comes when one learns to bloom where one is planted. Every situation can bear fruit and every person is worth getting to know. I have learned to find friends in strangers, make homes in unfamiliar places, and create life-giving work from the most unlikely of circumstances. For that experience, I am humbly grateful. My work and my hope rely on the movement of the Spirit, the kindness of strangers, the ability to discern purpose in the midst of disruption, and the careful work of finding the genius in each person.
